Sustainability and reporting: Our current support offer

Sustainability and reporting: Our current support offer

Regulatory requirements in the area of sustainability are evolving: The EU Omnibus Procedure simplifies CSRD reporting obligations, while the voluntary VSME standard for small and medium-sized enterprises is gaining increasing importance. Furthermore, the EBA guidelines on considering ESG risks in lending demonstrate that ESG reporting remains highly relevant even without a legal obligation.

Against this backdrop, we continuously update our consulting services. Whether it's implementing holistic sustainability management , developing a sustainability strategy, conducting a materiality analysis, or analyzing your supply chain – there are many activities we can support you with that can be implemented effectively, even in a dynamic environment. Furthermore, if you wish to report transparently on your sustainability status quo, the VSME standard is a suitable option – in addition to the CSRD and ESRS standards – and we would be happy to assist you with its implementation.

In July, we highlighted the VSME standard as a voluntary reporting alternative in a well-attended webinar. Using practical examples, we demonstrated how companies can strengthen their ESG strategy and future-proof their operations despite (temporary) exemption from the CSRD obligation.

Five steps to the complete VSME report

To implement VSME reporting, we use our proven 5-step consulting approach. In most of our projects, we follow a coaching approach: We explain the requirements to the project partner and discuss how these should be implemented internally. The data collection and implementation are carried out by the project partner. We are always available to answer questions and provide support, and we monitor the project partner's implementation. If more intensive support from us is desired, our team also collaborates on data collection and processing, as well as its integration into the report. This is particularly suitable for companies with limited personnel resources in the area of sustainability.

Our 5-step approach is based on the following modules, although not all of them need to be commissioned. For example, the VSME standard does not require conducting and publishing a materiality analysis. However, for complete preparation and implementation of the reporting, our approach as a comprehensive package is recommended:

Sustainable business practices

Despite simplified reporting requirements, sustainability remains a key issue for the future. Whether mandated by regulations or strategically advantageous, we support you in its implementation and are happy to advise you personally on getting started with sustainability or further developing your existing sustainability strategy.
