International Cooperation & Collaboration

Our international collaboration supports companies and partners in increasing energy efficiency and thus reducing greenhouse gas emissions, for example through energy efficiency networks in Thailand and Vietnam. Arqum undertakes a variety of tasks to ensure the successful implementation of such projects.

Our international projects range from small capacity-building projects and develoPPP initiatives to larger contracts with various donor organizations. Below, we present some of our ongoing projects. We would be happy to discuss your individual project ideas with you!

Current projects

We conceived the PartnerAfrika project in 2022 and launched it in cooperation with the interest group Unternehmer Baden-Württemberg (UBW), sequa gGmbH , the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi and the business association Association of Ghana Industries (AGI).

The goals of the PartnerAfrica project are:

  • Promoting the transfer of knowledge on sustainability and energy efficiency topics in companies through training and joint cluster meetings,
  • Raising awareness of sustainable economic practices and improving the education of KNUST students through a special course program on energy efficiency and environmental management,
  • the networking of university and students with industry through the awarding of internships (paid via the project),
  • Improved job opportunities for KNUST students, as well as more know-how and well-trained specialists for companies.

The German Training Week (GTW) was conceived by Arqum and, following a successful pilot phase in 2022, was included in the portfolio of the project development program of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).

The goal of GTW is to raise awareness among local businesses about energy efficiency and energy management. The training sessions are led by local experts who work alongside our team to tailor the training to specific local conditions. To date, we have conducted GTW in the following countries: Kenya, Jordan, Senegal, Nigeria, Côte d'Ivoire, Vietnam, Cambodia, Uganda, Rwanda, and Bangladesh.

  • Implementation of energy efficiency and management consulting for 22 industrial and public companies within the framework of the China Network (Climate Protection Network in China)
  • Arqum facilitated technology and knowledge transfer workshops for these companies and provided capacity development for the local partners.
  • Arqum developed a long-term strategy for local public partners to build modern service structures in energy and climate protection consulting.

The energy efficiency and climate protection networks in Ho Chi Minh City and Thai Nguyen Province are building on the success of the Energy Efficiency and Climate Protection Networks initiative in Germany and adapting the concept to the local conditions in Vietnam.

The aim of these networks, moderated and managed by Arqum, is to promote awareness of energy efficiency and climate protection, to establish a continuous transfer of knowledge, and to identify and implement meaningful energy efficiency measures.
