This is how we implement an energy management system according to ISO 50001 in your company.

To establish an energy management system according to ISO 50001, we first identify your significant energy consumption areas, the SEUs (Significant Energy Uses). We then compare your existing processes with the requirements of ISO 50001:2018. Even during the implementation phase, initial energy efficiency measures are identified and compiled into action plans – for example, for lighting, compressed air, or ventilation/air conditioning. This allows us to develop and define concrete energy targets together with you from the outset .

When introducing the management system and its documentation in a manual, we place great importance on a slim systemIf desired, we can integrate energy management into your existing systems and support you until the end. successful certification.
Companies that already have a management system according to EMAS, ISO 14001  or  ISO 9001 Those who have implemented such measures are already ideally prepared for the establishment of an energy management system.

Even with ÖKOPROFIT or ECOfit , essential foundations for the introduction of an energy management system are already being developed.

Multi-site challenge: Implementing ISO 50001 in companies with many locations

The Energy Efficiency Act poses significant challenges, especially for companies with multiple locations ( multi-site organizations ). To best support these companies in implementing ISO 50001, we have developed a tailored consulting concept and have already successfully applied it several times. At its core is a clear focus on the "head office." Here, general topics are centrally managed, and uniform guidelines are established for the tasks to be implemented at all locations.

Another key to success is the early classification of sites into clusters with comparable energy-related issues. For these clusters, data collection and the organization of internal audits, for example, can be standardized and therefore more efficiently managed. The level of detail in these regulations depends on the energy consumption of each site. This allows us to further minimize the effort required for less relevant sites.

Our tailored consulting concept for multi-site organizations enables affected companies to achieve a stringent and feasible path to certification.

Internal audits and training for performance monitoring

The main focus of our consulting services is the practical benefit of conducting an internal audit according to ISO 50001 for your company.

Based on the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle, ISO 50001 stipulates the regular performance of an internal audit to verify the effectiveness of the management system and to define improvement measures. We support you in this process to create lasting added value for your company.

In addition to using our constantly evolving materials for conducting internal audits, building audit expertise within your company is a key task. We can provide training for this purpose as part of a consulting engagement.

Alternatively, your employees have the option of participating in one of our seminars on the topic of internal audit ISO 50001.

What is a GAP analysis for ISO 50001?

As part of a gap analysis for ISO 50001, an inventory of existing processes is conducted before the implementation of the energy management system. The existing structures and processes are compared with the requirements of ISO 50001, and the steps still required to fully meet the requirements are derived.

What is a PDCA cycle?

The PDCA cycle is a concept that describes a continuous improvement process. A PDCA cycle consists of four repeating phases: Plan-Do-Check-Act. By constantly repeating these phases, errors can be identified and products and processes can be further developed.
