Consulting in the field of CSR/sustainability
Sustainability management in the company
A structured sustainability management system helps companies to systematically manage, improve, and report on their sustainability performance. It ensures that sustainability is not an isolated issue, but is firmly embedded in strategy, processes, and decisions.
A functioning sustainability management system forms the basis for your reporting according to CSRD or VS , as well as for credible communication with customers, employees and other stakeholders.

Tip: The individual steps can be flexibly adapted to the size and starting point of your company – from a streamlined introduction to a comprehensive management system. Those seeking complete sustainability management should implement the We Impact management system (based on the classic Plan-Do-Check-Act logic and strongly building upon EMAS).
To measure the performance of their sustainability management system , we use established indicators. These include the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the German Sustainability Code (DNK).
FAQs on sustainability management in companies
What does sustainability management mean in a company?
Corporate sustainability management means having structures in place to record, manage, and evaluate a company's own sustainability impacts. This includes processes and responsibilities, sustainability goals and action plans, as well as their monitoring.
How do you implement sustainability management in a company?
The process begins with defining the scope of application, followed by a materiality analysis and a current state analysis. Based on this, goals and measures are developed, communicated, and ultimately permanently integrated into the company.
What are the advantages of a sustainability management system?
By actively managing its own sustainability performance, a company continuously improves – both at its location and throughout its value chain. It reduces risks, identifies opportunities, and can report transparently on its status to stakeholders at any time.
Where is sustainability evident in the company?
Sustainability is evident at every stage of the value chain – from fair contractual structures with suppliers to the design of the workplace, to the circular economy and the recycling of products at the end of their life cycle.
Is sustainability management mandatory?
A sustainability management system itself is not legally required, but it forms the practical basis for meeting requirements such as the CSRD reporting obligation and for strategically anchoring sustainability in the company.
