The German Training Week on energy efficiency will continue in 2024: training courses in five more countries.

We share knowledge! Following the conception and successful completion of the pilot phase of our German Training Week (GTW) on energy efficiency in 2022, the German Training Week was incorporated into the program of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ). In 2023, we were then able to successfully conduct further training sessions in Côte d'Ivoire and Vietnam together with local experts.

The German Training Week continues in 2024: A total of five training sessions are planned in different regions for that year. The aim is to raise awareness among local companies about energy efficiency and energy management. The training sessions in Cambodia, Uganda, and Rwanda have already taken place and provided valuable insights and results.

In Rwanda , technical, commercial, and legal aspects were discussed, with a particular focus on reducing power losses and promoting energy-efficient solutions. There was an exchange of information on various cross-cutting technologies such as cooling systems, lighting, and drive systems.

In Uganda, the focus was on reducing energy costs, sustainability, and economic growth, with the aim of making companies more competitive through the use of energy-efficient technologies. Regulatory requirements for supporting sustainable projects were also addressed.

The German Training Week in Cambodia, which took place in May 2024, focused on retrofitting commercial and industrial buildings. Given Cambodia's ambitious goals of reducing energy consumption in industry by 20% by 2030, GTW provided participants with valuable know-how for energy-efficient solutions.

In the second half of the year, there will be another German Training Week in Bangladesh, and another GTW will take place in Côte d'Ivoire – this time as the first online German Training Week on energy efficiency.

We are already looking forward to the two upcoming training sessions and are sure that all participants and practical trainers will benefit from the exchange.
