Arqum supports energy efficiency network projects in Thailand and Vietnam and demonstrates how international cooperation can actively drive the transition to a climate-friendly industry.
Thailand: Launch of the first energy efficiency network
As part of the Thai-German Energy Dialogue (TGED), Arqum supports the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) in building the first energy efficiency network in Thailand.
Following the official kick-off on October 27, 2025, in Bangkok, the project team, together with representatives from FTI and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) GmbH, visited the first five participating companies. The aim is to jointly develop pathways to a carbon-neutral and energy-efficient industry.
The Thai-German Energy Dialogue (TGED) was initiated by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) and the Thai Ministry of Energy (MoEN) and is implemented by GIZ.
Vietnam: Successful continuation of energy efficiency clubs
Arqum has been implementing the energy efficiency network project in Vietnam since 2023 as part of the “Support to Vietnam for the Implementation of the Paris Agreement” program.
In October 2025, together with our local partners Enerteam and VETS, we were able to visit the participating companies to develop concrete energy efficiency and greenhouse gas reduction measures.
In addition to their existing energy efficiency targets, both the Energy Efficiency Club in Thai Nguyen and the group in Ho Chi Minh City have now set targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Using 2024 as a baseline, the companies aim to reduce their CO₂ emissions by 2–3% annually – a significant contribution to Vietnam's goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
