As part of our two Energy Efficiency and Climate Clubs (EEC) in Thai Nguyen and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, thorough energy audits were conducted at twelve companies between the end of October and the beginning of November 2024. The aim of the energy audits was to analyze the companies' energy consumption and identify opportunities for optimization.
Together with local experts from VETS and Enerteam, as well as representatives from GIZ, we conducted comprehensive on-site analyses. These focused on energy-intensive systems such as furnaces, air compressors, and refrigeration units, which are particularly relevant to the energy balance of the companies. The energy audits revealed significant potential for savings, and concrete measures to increase energy efficiency were discussed with the companies.
The member companies of the energy networks are now beginning to implement the developed measures to achieve their ambitious goal: By 2026, the companies aim to improve both energy efficiency and CO₂ emissions by 2% annually. The measures are therefore expected to result in an overall saving of 6% – compared to 2023.
To achieve this goal, the EEC is planning a comprehensive training program for the coming year. As part of this program, we will conduct training courses on energy management and greenhouse gas accounting, as well as present available best-practice solutions to further strengthen the expertise of our members.
